360 Repertory Theater Company (360repco) celebrates the life of Thom Fogarty, our Founding Artistic Director, and announces the final completion of our circle.

What can we say about a man who was larger than life? What can we say for a man who had everything to say and said it in a very particular way? This is what we’ve been weighing as we consider how to honor Thom Fogarty’s memory with you.

360repco was, in many ways, the sum of Thom’s life. Thom was a performance artist in every sense of the word: dancer, choreographer, writer, actor, director, producer, and activist. He lived his life celebrating the art of others, pushing limits, and making his voice heard. He brought his dance aesthetic – his deep understanding of what the body in space represents, the power of gaze and gesture – to every project. He believed in the reciprocity of live performance and the power of art to change lives.

As we pick up the literal pieces that Thom left, we’ve found journals filled with production notes and visioning notes about what 360repco could be. The throughline is the circle: Thom’s belief that the playwright’s words, the actors’ emotional and physical embodiment, the director’s all-around vision, and the audience’s collective psyche all unite to form a complete circle.

You completed this circle. When you joined us for 13 fully produced plays and 18 play readings of new and existing works, you completed this circle. When you supported the 14 playwrights, 88 actors, seven musicians, and three designers that made art with us, you completed this circle. When you bore witness to the often brutal plays that Thom chose to produce, works that endeavored to shine a mirror on the horrors and joys that make up, as he put it, “the vastness of human conditions,” you completed this circle. Thank you.

Thom’s death from cancer in October 2025 completed the circle of his life and, with it, the life cycle of 360repco. Thank you to every playwright, actor, musician, designer, Board member, and audience member who created theatre with us arc by arc until the circle was complete. Your presence was essential. And it meant more to Thom than we will ever know.
